I finally bit the bullet and had a protein shake this morning. I am allergic to dairy, soy and whey. Yes, I know that whey is dairy, but try explaining that to most people.
Of the three other proteins, egg, hemp and yellow pea, I decided upon the pea protein. I mixed it with ice water (because I am allergic to milk) and a banana. It was good.
I am not going to have any more of this for three days to be sure that it won't bother me. In the meantime I will just wait and see. My digestive problems can flare with a new food and I want to be careful - for a change.
But it was tasty. Not gritty or nasty like I had read. That's a good thing.
